BIOGRAPHY

Jenna Kim, known professionally as JENNA, is an Australian singer, songwriter, composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist, based in South Korea.

JENNA began her musical journey by playing classical piano and flute since the age of 8. She has achieved AMEB (Australian Music Examinations Board) Theory of Music – Grade 3 in 2009 and Flute – Grade 8 in 2010.

She had been wishing to combine technical skills into music, which encouraged her studies at UNSW (University of New South Wales) – Bachelor of Media in Screen and Sound. By the age of 18, she has discovered her talent in music composition/production, as well as video production.

In 2014, JENNA has won the 1st place in UCC short music video competition run by Hyundai, and started working as an assistant music video director at SM Entertainment, which is known as one of the most famous K-pop labels in Korea. As she could not endure her passion for music, she has quit the job and started her career as a professional musician; singer songwriter, composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist.

JENNA is mainly a composer of various music genres including; K-pop, Hip-hop, R&B and also film/theatrical composition. She is currently enrolled in postgraduate course at Kyunghee University, Korea – Master of Post Modern Music. She used to take a part in Korean Hip-hop underground crew as a female singer and rapper, and now she independently performs as a singer songwriter while working as a music composer.

She has been performing in Korea and intends to actively perform in Australia, where she is grown up. Her first debut EP album is scheduled to be released in May, 2017. To reflect her personal identity into her music, she insists on writing her songs both in English and Korean. JENNA’s first EP album will contain both English and Korean songs and will be distributed to Korean Music Platforms and iTunes.
